I'm seriously kicking myself for not driving further to Price Chopper!
This has been our regular grocery store for years. There's always a great selection of produce and it's very rare I can't find an item I need, even unusual ones. Get a Hen House card - there are items on sale only for card holders and the savings are amazing. Incredibly helpful and friendly staff as well. Love this store - you will too.
I'm walking off with the pies and hear Crabby Bakery Lady say, "That lady just took them all". Seriously learn some manners! Old dogs CAN learn knew tricks.
Then Crabby Bakery Lady is like, "there's pies over there in the case."
The only reason I can't recommend them, is they sell a lot of outdated produce. Those sale items. All outdated. The organic section. Hardly watched and you must remain careful of what you grab. The odd thing about it, you can notify management, and things stay the same. I almost think they're expected to run the store this way.
It is a great place to shop I can find what I need get in and get out Like the self service check out
I asked if they had pies in back, since I didn't want to take away their entire display.
This Henhouse is blah. Plus they don't even give their employees a discount, the nice cashier deserves a better job.
I asked Bakery Lady if there were any pies in the back. She's like, "welll did you order them"?
Clean store with descent staff. Sometimes their cashiers are very slow but friendly at least. Produce is great as well as meat department and bakery. You get all of this great quality but will pay slightly more for items.
So really, the store only orders a handful of one pie a Thanksgiving week?
I'm like, "No, the lady this morning said I couldn't do that.
Went to buy some on lunch.
The bakery lady said I couldn't order three pies this morning.
I'm like, "hmm do you have another pie in back, this one doesn't look as fresh." And she says, "NO, there's nothing wrong with it."
