Worst shopping experience in my entire life. If I could give less than one star I would. On July 5th I was in the store and a clerk approached me and asked if she could help me. I said yes and said do you have any of the old fashioned beer openers (needed it to open chicken stock)? She looked at me and said, "oh how cute, a little old lady asking for a beer opener." While I am not tall, old would not be a term that would describe me. From a fitness stand point I could pretty well take anyone one. I was speechless as well as mortified by her rudeness. Unfortunately I did not get her name or her title. This individual was at least in her mid-forties by my estimation. Had I not wanted what I had in my hand to purchase I would have dropped everything and left the store. Will not be darkening their door ever again.
I visited The Container Store in hopes to find specific sized bins for a new home that we are building. The cabinets in the laundry room and pantry are quite deep, which I quickly realized would become a deep, dark, cavernous hole for EVERYTHING to get pushed back into never to be seen again. As I entered the store, I was overwhelmed not knowing where to begin in planning these two areas. Dennis Zahn was able to assess what my needs were and directed me to a section in the store for bin sizes that would meet my needs. I purchased a couple of the Elfa mesh bins with easy gliders and took them to our new home to complete planning these areas. I went back to the store that night with my long list of a wish list. In no time I ran into David, who was a blast to work with. He asked appropriate questions to help us be sure we were on the right track and same page. As he got a better understanding of my plan, he and a few other staff went into high gear pulling all the bins, gliders, dividers, and tags for me! This really is a specialty store that seeks to meet the customer’s needs. I like that they were not working on commission or pushing sales. I can hardly wait to put my plan into action. I will share pictures.
Went in because I was visiting KC for a conference and thought I would pick up two Skandia shelves rather than have them shipped. Also, there was a 25% sale on shelving. When I showed the sales associate which two I needed, she checked and told me that the store no longer keeps Skandia items on the premises and they would have to come to the store on next week’s truck, well after I have gone home. I am posting two stars instead of one because the clerk was very helpful in getting me this information.
But what’s the point of having a store if it takes as long for items to get to it as it does to have them shipped to my house?
Great store if you need to find storage options or any type of container. The staff are friendly and you can expect a quick check out
I love this place! If you are looking for inspiration to keep your home tidy, it's a great place to go.
