We used to go here when our children were little and we lived in the area. On a recent trip back, we met up with friends with a group of kids from 3-15. Everyone had a great time. While the activities are geared for younger children, teens will have fun hanging out and interacting with animals.
Best deal in town! Only 2 dollars to get in! There is so much to do with your family we go twice a week my son thinks he owns the farm I'm pretty sure. He loves, playing in the parks, talking to the chickens, and running around like a mad man in the barn. It's a great experience and well worth your time.
Growing and still fun for the kids. Perfect for good weather days (especially if the have not been there for a few years). Read other reviews to see optimal enjoyment. I think there are some growing pains but I see great promise for the next visit.
Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead is a wonderful little gem in Overland Park. Admission is only my $2/person, and there are times when admission is free. The Farmstead features farm animals and children's activities in a low key atmosphere perfect for families or meeting up with friends.
This is a fun place to take kids. It is bigger than I thought it would be. Our 3 year old ran ahead of us at one point (we knew where he was but because there were so many people he could not see us) and he ran out the manned exit. When I reached the exit personnel (who was facing me inside the homestead, not my child who was outdide) I asked him if he always let children out of the homestead without their parents. He replied that he was watching him. He was clearly not watching him. My 3 year old could have easily run out into the parking lot... not so safe.
There is so much to do here! Lots of learning activities for the kids and their pumpkin patch was excellent. Also, they named their 50 baby goats after Harry Potter characters, loved it!
