This was the worst massage experience I've ever had. It was unbelievably unprofessional. We scheduled a couples massage. The person who had me, was the receptionist and not a licensed therapist. She jokingly said during the massage "sorry if I cut you, my nails are too long", and "my hands are freezing cold I'm sorry if it's a shock at 1st". The "therapists" then continued to talk throughout the 60 minute session, trying to spark conversation with my boyfriend and I. All we wanted was to enjoy a peaceful relaxing hour massage together. It was awful. There were no head rests on our tables, so when it was time to roll on our stomachs- our necks were then forced one way or another. We were in more pain when we left, than when we arrived. And on top of it all, I had asked for the therapist to concentrate on my lower back, hands and feet- and not once did she touch them. I don't see how they continue to be in business.
I recently had a great experience at Riya spa. Steve was my massage therapist and did an incredible job. I would recommend Steve if you want a good deep tissue massage.
My husband and I had a terrible experience with Laura at Riya med spa. We waited over a hour for our scheduled couple massage appointment, She excused her lateness by stating she could not control how late someone wants to stay. She accused me of being rude and then snapped " this is not going to work, I have a right to refuse service!!!!" Her behavior was irrational and alarming. We felt that we were lucky to avoid her services. My husband was sad that something he tried to do for me turned about so terrible . Her business card states she is a licensed medical Aesthetician and a certified Laser Technician. No mention of message therapy.
