We love Dr. Matt and the crew at Smiles and have been coming back for years. His staff puts ours son's anxiety at ease and provides dental care education in a way that children understand and can follow through with at home. It's always a welcoming, friendly and accommodating environment.
Dr. Matt and all of his staff are absolutely amazing! They're so patient and kind. I take all 3 of my kids there and drive 45 minutes to see them because that's how great they are. When my toddler is having a melt down, they're all there to help and distract. It's never stressful and they truly care. I cannot say enough good things about them. I will never go anywhere else.
We absolutely adore Smiles Dentistry! They quickly gained the trust of my typically shy 3 year old and helped him be brave. Now He keeps talking nonstop about how nice Ashley and Dr. Matt were and wants to go back tomorrow because he misses them. Everyone was knowledgeable and very helpful. Love this practice and we plan to stay with them for a very long time.
Several years ago a well known pediatric dentist in Overland Park, KS extracted my little girl's tooth without numbing her. She screamed so loud that this dentist was shaking by the end of it. My daughter was so traumatized that it would take 3 years to find a dentist who she trusted enough to even open her mouth. We went to one of the top specialists at Children's Mercy, we went to dentists with great reviews...my daughter would have none of it. At this point her cavities had grown very large and it was extensive and my husband and I were at a loss. A group of moms at a Kansas City mom's group said that Dr. Matt had worked with children who had bad experiences in the past and we immediately made an appointment. The first moment my daughter met Dr. Matt, she opened her mouth so he could see her teeth! This was huge and something she hadn't done for any of the other pediatric dentists since her bad experience. I was shocked! She has trusted him ever since and we won't ever go to anyone else. Even after having dental surgery, she still likes him. He is wonderful and we are so thankful that this trauma is finally over and he has taken her fear away.
Highly recommend Dr. Matt and his staff! They are all super friendly, courteous, and fantastic with kids. Not to mention timely - I'm always out of there within 30 minutes with my 2 kids. They do a great job explaining the process to the kids and making a trip to the dentist a "fun" experience!
