What saddens me, I did buy my beloved Beagle from the Independence Petland 13 years ago. He past in June. One thing I am learning, there are better, cleaner, and cheaper puppies at other places. If you want a purebred do your research and find them from a good breeder. They are cheaper. Go to a shelter or another store. I feel sorry for these puppies at this Petland because they don't deserve to be treated this way, and you shouldn't have to pay the outrageous price! I won't ever be back.
Great pet store, staff is helpful and pleasant, so many cute pets available too. Fall in love with the little puppies and kittens every visit. Small town feel, love this store!
Anyway, I did ask to see a puppy from another cage. I was able to play with the little girl puppy. Out of curiosity, I asked how much the dog was, when the young man returned with an outrageous price. I handed the dog over and said thank you before walking out the door.
This place is awesome, they always help me and its fun to play with the animals plus they are cheaper then petco and petsmart

this store has poor conditions for the puppies they sell here, the puppies that are located there are sick and have to be in quarantine because of the illnesses they have, i asked about the puppy that i had purchased, about the mucus that was discharging from his nose and i was told it was nothing but i later found out that it was a bacterial infection that he had obtained from poor hygiene, i also noticed that the neck bands that identify the puppies are too tight, my shiba inu had almost lost his fur around his neck from the band being so tight. i would recommend not purchasing a puppy here.
When I walked into this store the smell of dog poop was overwhelming. I walked to look at each puppy, I past one cage with 3 puppies in it and saw the cage was wasn't clean and there was dog poop on the wall of the cage. It almost made me sick. A few months before this I and my son witnessed a puppy eat another pup's poop.
