I first went here as a patient from buying a cheap Groupon that included a 30 minute massage, a chiropractic consultation and an X-ray. I bought the Groupon because I was experiencing some pretty severe back pain and just wanted some quick relief. I have not had good experiences with chiropractors in the past (adjustments have tended to hurt me more, not helped) so I was really looking the most forward to the massage portion. However, after meeting with Dr. Bates one time, I was convinced she was different. She started talking about all sorts of other solutions to pain than just chiropractic adjustments. Her knowledge and enthusiasm for her work became very apparent in just the initial conversation I had with her. I have now been back to see Dr. Bates five times and we are working on a plan using neurokinetic therapy to fix the source of my back pain, instead of just the symptoms like most chiropractors do.
Dr. Gradwohl and staff are always timely and extremely helpful. Dr. Gradwohl is incredibly knowledgeable and has the ability to find the source of your issues quickly. I would never go to anyone else!
Whenever she has done adjustments on me she uses mostly instruments, which I like because you can be so much more accurate. I always look forward to my appointments with Dr. Bates because I discover more about my body (bad posture habits, strengths, weaknesses, etc.) every time I see her. I very rarely leave reviews but Dr. Bates has been so spectacular when I had all but given up on chiropractors that I felt compelled to write one. If you are in still pain after trying other doctors, specialists, etc., and don't know what else to do now - try Dr. Bates! She and her colleague are the most knowledgeable chiros I have ever met. Also, the rest of the office staff is very friendly and welcoming. I simply cannot rate them high enough.
Went in to have my body adjusted. And only was told that I need strengthen my core, which I already knew and pay an arm/ leg plus be still in pain.
I recently twisted my ankle so bad that I couldn't walk the day after it happened. I hobbled and dragged myself to Optimal Health and I'm so glad I did. The staff is very friendly and competent and the doctors are very talented. I saw Dr. Bates and she exhibited an extraordinary ability to make the complex simple. After some treatment they loaned me a pair of crutches. I only needed one day on the crutches and I credit Dr. Bates treatment for the speed of my recovery. I've received other chiropractic care over the past many years and the experience is always the same : The staff does a wonderful job, the doctors show that they care about you getting better more than anything else, and I leave feeling thankful. I trust this office to always be worth their fee.
Dr. Amy Bates is an angel- I am convinced that she saved my life. I didn't see her for chiropractic services but for enzyme therapy. After seeing many many doctors and feeling hopeless I was given a referral to Dr. Bates from a friend and it was the first time I felt that my provider listened. She is so caring and operates under the principle that our bodies are brilliant and have what they need to truly heal as long as they are given the right nutrients. When nutrient absorption is inhibited, things start to go awry and she works with you to determine a custom regimen of enzymes to get nutrient absorption optimized. I believe in her philosophy and recommend her to anyone who is sick or is wanting to simply pursue better health. So thankful for her!
