Expensive x-ray services. $706 was billed to my insurance (BCBS) for a 3-view ankle image. I had already hit my deductible for the year, and my responsibility was still $105.75. That was the bill from University of Kansas Hospital. University of Kansas Physicians billed an additional $61 for the same x-ray, but I was only responsible for $2.75.
The entire staff was the most friendly and well trained that I have ever seen. I would recommend this facility, doctors, nursing, and aid staff to anyone.

I had a lumbar puncture done here and had serious complications. The symptoms were text book bleeding into the spine, resulting in paralysis. I needed immediate surgery to reverse this. The pain I was in was very sever and getting worse by the minute, and I lost feeling and use of my legs right away. I was told I was not breathing correctly, that is why I was having this problem, with feeling. While I reported these symptoms to the nurse and begged for help, I WAS REFUSED HELP. I asked to be taken to the hospital, I WAS AGAIN REFUSED HELP. Dr. Ernest Madarang and his Nurse told me “I just needed to go home”. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. The arrogance and lack of compassion is dangerous to patient care. I now have permanent damage to my nerves, missed six months’ work and have permanent disability and a much lower quality of life thanks to the incompetence here.
I was very impressed with the staff. Friendly all around. I was also pleased with the wait time.
